Classification of gas masks

Gas masks can be divided into airway type gas masks and direct type gas masks.

The airway type gas mask is composed of a mask, a large or medium-sized gas filter tank and an air duct. The direct gas mask is composed of a mask and a small gas filter tank.

Selection and precautions of gas masks

When using gas masks, appropriate gas filter tanks shall be selected according to different kinds and properties of toxic vapors, gases and harmful sols in the production environment. GB 2890-1995 specifies 8 types of gas filter tanks. During operation, corresponding gas masks shall be selected for protection according to the actual situation of toxic gases in the laboratory.

The physical adsorption of the gas mask impregnated with activated carbon is reversible, and the adsorption and desorption rates are relatively fast. Therefore, the mask should be taken off in the environment where there is no gas or the concentration of gas is very low to avoid inhaling the desorption gas.
